Bar Cart: Easy G&T

I'm a gin girl. I'm also a Natty girl, but don't get me started on that. The best way to start, and end in my opinion, a night on the town is with a gin and tonic with an extra lime or three. It's somewhat of a grandma drink {or so I've been told} for the resident grandma, me.

I don't drink at home too regularly mainly because I live alone right now, and that seems weird. Especially since I have clearly skipped over from "wine+Scandal" to something a little more, potent. But when I do want a G&T, I run into a few issues. One, who keeps tonic on hand? Two, tonic water has a ton of sugar per serving that I don't want!  And three, the lime issue. Not a regular item on my shopping list, which for me is key in the G&T.

A few years ago, the beau and I discovered Dasani Sparkling at Sam's Club. There were only two flavors, lime and mixed berry, and we devoured dozens of cans over Christmas break. Then they disappeared. Apparently, we were apart of the trial run that led to the full line in grocery stores. Thank goodness! We are addicted, and buy up almost every case of lime and mixed berry we find in the grocery stores now.

Lacking an abundance of tonic and limes led to me trying some gin with lime flavored sparkling water. Yum! And super convenient in my world. To sweeten it up just a bit, I'll add a dash of lime juice to the mixture. Easy and 'healthier' in the world of elaborate and sugary cocktails.

I love using my great grandmother's vintage glasses for cocktails!

Cheers, and Happy Weekend to you, my friend!

Wedding Wednesday: Monogram Me

One of the things I look forward to most about getting married, besides seeing each other everyday and creating a life together, is FINALLY being able to monogram something. Anything! I have not purchased a monogrammed item in over four years. I guess I could have been monogramming contentedly throughout the years, but I knew he was the one from like a month in, and it just seemed like a waste of money to monogram things that would be "old" after getting married.

My wonderful bridesmaids have been on the lookout for all the marvelous "M" things they can find, so we can decorate the wedding and our home with the main initial. But I can't wait to monogram things for just me, with my new monogram: pMd! I of course adhere to the "no married monograms prior to marriage" rule to a T {or an M}, so I can't wait to go all out starting in May. My sweet beau did buy me my first monogrammed piece of jewelry for our 'date-iversary,' a perfectly petite 'M' Kate Spade necklace! Luckily it says "one in a million" on the back, so I just wear it reversed for now, with the 'M' close to my heart until April 30.

These are few of the personal monogram items I cannot wait to get once I'm an old married woman:

Gigi New York leather purse with gold embossed initials
like this  one

Gold Monogram Filigree Necklace

Monogram Stackable Ring Set from Marley Lilly

I'm obsessed with this large acrylic monogram
necklace from Baublebar that looks like marble. Like,
must have immediately.

A classic pinky signet ring

A new monogram decal for my car like this Georgia Southern one!

There's a First Time for Everything

I've always tried to shop the Lilly After Party Sales, but with absolutely no luck. Before the "virtual line" the site would be down for hours at a time, and I just didn't feel like it was worth the battle. But this time, I was ready for it. I updated all my info last night, and was ready to go at 8 a.m., but the app! It was down until after 9 a.m.! As soon as I got to the office I pulled up the desktop site and was put in the line. Once the app was up, I lined up there too. Oddly enough, I ended up getting access on both at exactly the same time which worked really well when searching and looking for different items.

I really wanted to get a few things for upcoming wedding events, Easter, and our tropical honeymoon this summer. I had a few more things in my tote that disappeared before checkout, but I am more than thrilled with my prizes! If the After Party Sale is not for you, Amazon and 6pm.com are great sites to find discount Lilly. I'm also a huge eBay-er for new with tags Lillies, and vintage finds alike.

What I got:

Monterey Tank Dress in Multi Toucan Play

The Gabby Shift in Summer Blue Summer Haze

The Gabby Shift in Pop Pink

Did you get some goodies, too?
