V-day His Way

Gift giving is my number one love language. As much as I love to receive pretty presents, I get so excited about the hunt of the right thing to give to someone I love. I may put a lot of undue pressure on myself during the holidays to get the right thing for my special someone, but this Valentine's Day, I knew well in advance what might work!

My fiance loves a vest. He also loves shorts, even in the winter. I think I see a theme developing here...anyways. I really love this Southern Proper All Prep Vest in cream. It's fuzzy warm, with a patriotic plaid pocket, but the best part is that its REVERSIBLE! Watches seem to be trending more among the man-set as of late, and this personalized carbon fiber watch box would be a big hit with the man who likes to be punctual--or just likes to wear a watch.

The Yeti Rambler was super hard to find during Christmas, and will continue to be a popular gift for Valentines Day. I've even seen a few local places that will do engraving! These cups of course keep your ice cold, but rumor has it that they don't sweat, either. This is definitely the more affordable Yeti gift.

I'm really picky about men's fragrance. I really just like the way soap and/or laundry detergent smells on a guy. But this Avon Luck for Men is amazing--clean, but manly, and my man loves it! He's gone through two bottles in the past year. Oh and P.S. you can buy it directly from me through my Avon Representative site {linked below}.
Happy shopping!

Wedding Wednesday: Monogram Me

One of the things I look forward to most about getting married, besides seeing each other everyday and creating a life together, is FINALLY being able to monogram something. Anything! I have not purchased a monogrammed item in over four years. I guess I could have been monogramming contentedly throughout the years, but I knew he was the one from like a month in, and it just seemed like a waste of money to monogram things that would be "old" after getting married.

My wonderful bridesmaids have been on the lookout for all the marvelous "M" things they can find, so we can decorate the wedding and our home with the main initial. But I can't wait to monogram things for just me, with my new monogram: pMd! I of course adhere to the "no married monograms prior to marriage" rule to a T {or an M}, so I can't wait to go all out starting in May. My sweet beau did buy me my first monogrammed piece of jewelry for our 'date-iversary,' a perfectly petite 'M' Kate Spade necklace! Luckily it says "one in a million" on the back, so I just wear it reversed for now, with the 'M' close to my heart until April 30.

These are few of the personal monogram items I cannot wait to get once I'm an old married woman:

Gigi New York leather purse with gold embossed initials
like this  one

Gold Monogram Filigree Necklace

Monogram Stackable Ring Set from Marley Lilly

I'm obsessed with this large acrylic monogram
necklace from Baublebar that looks like marble. Like,
must have immediately.

A classic pinky signet ring

A new monogram decal for my car like this Georgia Southern one!

Birthday Recap: CJM is 24!

Happy birthday, Christopher {yesterday.}! Although we didn't get to see too much of each other yesterday, I'm forever thankful that you're only an hour away and we can have a late night El Som/birthday marg run on your day off. Also sorry that we're the same age again, which I know makes you sad {#cougar}.

Grown up birthdays, especially those that fall in the middle of the week, are kind of weird. I love birthdays, so I want it to be a big deal regardless, but the rest of the world seems to not feel the same. I tried to stretch it out just a little bit by bringing Christopher's birthday gift and goodies to him on Sunday when I went to visit his family.

His favorite cookies are white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. Coincidentally, I also needed to do some baking for the Statesboro Jaycee's bake sale last Friday. So I whipped out the Kitchen Aid {which is never an easy task with the industrial one that I have} and made a double batch of this cookie recipe. Yum. So good, and very easy--my only suggestion is to bump up the temp to 350 degrees. I'm much more of a baker than I am a cooker and I find baking to be something of a stress reliever, too.

Bake Sale-ers.

For weeks I've been teasing Christopher about his birthday gift, saying that it was something I wanted him to have and not necessarily something he wants. Because I found it and thought it was awesome! His family is very into their Scottish heritage {he even plays the bagpipes, although I've never actually seen this happen}, and we are planning on incorporating the family crest into some of our wedding details. So when I stumbled upon this ring on Etsy, I thought it would be something he would really enjoy or could at least become a family heirloom of sorts.

How cool? I think he and his whole family were really excited about it. I know it's been a transition for him, getting used to wearing a ring, but it's good practice for that wedding band! Oh, and those truffles from the first picture? Major yummies. Birthday cake truffles--tastes just like birthday cake batter and they're made from golden Oreos and cream cheese. I found the recipe here, and I'm definitely going to try this out at Christmas with the mint oreos. Wouldn't they be pretty dipped in white chocolate with crushed candy canes sprinkled on top?

Twenty-four

It's my birthday! Here's 24 reasons why I'm excited about my birthday, and being 24.

  1. The fair.
  2. Today is the 4th year anniversary of the day I met Christopher.
  3. Getting to go to the fair today, with Christopher.
  4. Birthday cake.
  5. Funnel cake.
  6. I'm getting married this year!
  7. My wonderful friends who made this past weekend the absolute best.
  8. It's Tuesday, so that means all of last night's Bravo shows are now available on the app for me to watch {it's the little things}.
  9. My family and getting to celebrate with them this weekend.
  10. 441 Kitchen & Pub for lunch with my wonderful work friends.
  11. Getting my first place setting of my everyday china as a birthday gift this weekend from my future sister in law.
  12. Feeling older, and in a good way. From Friday night:
    Random guy: Happy Birthday! 21?
Me: Thanks! Nope, I'm turning 24.
Random guy: Well you look 21!
    Me: Excellent...!
  13. Perfect birthday weather.
  14. Christopher's wedding band arriving today {it's a sign!}.
  15. Finding a Georgia Southern academic logo sign in the Chamber yard left over from last night's fair parade.
  16. Morning snuggles with my puppy dogs.
  17. My best friend's wedding in 12 days.
  18. Wearing my new favorite shirt to work {it's the pink one in the picture}.
  19. All the coupons my favorite stores have sent me to use this month.
  20. This "Very Vanilla" coffee I stumbled upon at the grocery store last night...yum.
  21. The Google birthday logo! So fancy.
  22. All the sweet texts, calls, and Facebook posts I've gotten today. Thank you!
  23. Being alive {these long lists are hard}.
  24. This list being over!

200 Days

Two hundred days. Today. When looking at how far we've come, it's really not that long. But at the same time it feels like forever.

While checking Twitter this morning, I saw where Santa had tweeted that today is...

18 days to Halloween
44 days to Thanksgiving
73 days to Christmas
80 days to the New Year

...and although he forgot six days to my 24th birthday, that really put things into perspective. Once we hit the New Year, we'll be attending showers and parties celebrating our upcoming marriage through April. It's going to fly by, and I can't wait.

I've gotten out Save the Dates for all of my addresses, and need to start on Christopher's side of the family. If you haven't already, check out our wedding website {yes, I did actually do one} at the link to the top right of the screen. Let me know what you think about it!

What to Buy the Boys

I've always found it a little difficult to buy for the men in my life. It's made even more difficult by being engaged to someone who has more clothes, shoes, etc. than I do. My "fancee" says I am a great gift buyer, but I don't always feel like I am--especially for him! I want to get him something useful, not just some silly novelty items. I do tend to find some quick and easy gifts in the specialty Target sections leading up to Christmas, but if you need to give a gift before then, you might get stuck.

I know some of my girlfriends also have this issue, so I thought I would blog today about some easy go-to 'guy gifts' that can be used for birthdays or Christmas {it is only 57 days away...}:

Shaving Club
via www.dollarshaveclub.com
First of all, go to the website and watch the video. It's hilarious. Secondly, just go ahead and order the $9/mo set for yourself. In my opinion, the more blades the better. The 'fancee' has gotten really interested in the straight razor business as of late, and luckily there is a cool specialty shop in Savannah that has tons of gadgets and creams that entertain him for hours. But I'm guessing there are times when a normal razor may do the job quicker. Either way, this is the gift that keeps on giving all year long! You get a handle and blades sent the first month, and then {4} new blades each month. How easy! Seriously, I may need this for myself, as I always forget to buy razors before I need them.

Wallet/Phone Case Combo Leather
via Etsy
Does your significant other routinely lose their wallet, keys, phone, etc.? While mine never does, {*rolls eyes*} this wallet/iPhone combo seems super convenient. The cards only model {shown} comes in right at $100, but a fold-over traditional wallet with an enclosed money section is only $50 more.

The Southerner's Handbook: A Guide to Living the Good Life
via Amazon
The title says it all. A compilation of basically "how to be a good southerner" from the fabulous editors of one of my favorite publications, Garden & Gun. This book is a great gift for any southerner, males and females alike.

University Decanter
via One Stop Fan Shop
If your man friend enjoys the finer things in life, he will really get a kick out of this item. University-specific decanters. Who wouldn't want to show up to a tailgate with this thing? It's pretty classy looking in you ask me, probably along the lines of "University Decanter. It's a #TFM."

Dress Socks
via Nordstrom
This may seem like a silly item, but it's a great stocking stuffer. Most guys I know only wear the no-show black sports socks, even though they're meticulous about their bow-ties, blazers, and every other detail. Dress socks are easy to find, in a wide array of colors and prices, and according to Nordstrom's extensive sock page, "Tradition dictates that over-the-calf socks should match the color of your trousers. If you want to go modern, choose patterned or bold-colored socks that complement your shirt or tie." Have fun with this one!

Nick Offerman Stuff

via The Offerman Shop
Does your beloved obsess about the show Parks & Rec, beards, and being a man? If so, The Offerman Shop is your one stop shop for gifts. Get an autographed book, hand crafted meat paddle or mustache comb...even an end table. This stuff is really too cool, as is Nick Offerman's personal story. {And you know he's married to Karen from Will & Grace, right? So...win-win for you and the boy.}

What do you like to get for your guy?

A Little Note of Appreciation

I wanted to take a moment and just brag a little on my wonderful fiance. He is such a gentleman, who takes wonderful care of me, and loves me like no other. We have been through a lot this past year, and I've put him through a lot as well, and he's stuck by me through it all. We're able to spend a lot of time together now that we only live an hour apart, and I'm so thankful. Last week, I came home from work to find that he had surprised me by completing a ton of the "I need to do this..." things around my house. He's helping me refine my tennis skills, cooks the best dinners for me {seriously. He make eggplant parm last week and brought it to work for us Chamber ladies--what a gem!}, listens to my not-so-funny jokes, and always makes me laugh.

I'm so very proud of him for completing his first year of pharmacy school last month. He'll be starting rotations in just a few weeks, and I can't wait to see what else is in store for him, and for the both of us!

Savannah Eats: Moon River Brewing Company

The Swamp Fox
The latter half of my spring break last week was spent with the fiance in Savannah. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend: sunny, 80's, and breezy. While I never quite made it to the beach, I did spend some quality time out by the pool, and adventuring with the dogs out in the marsh behind his house.

Saturday night was date night, and Christopher decided to take me to Moon River Brewing Company downtown. They have this "Quality Assurance Team" where for $35, you can become a lifetime member and get things like a free mug, discounted drink prices, 2-for-1 appetizers on the weekends during happy hour, etc., so we were going to take advantage of the appetizer special. Unknown to us, it was prom night. There were prom-ers everywhere! There is no way my mother would have let me drive in downtown Savannah on a Saturday night, in a prom dress, with some boy in a giant truck that doesn't know where he's going, much less where to park. But I digress...

I was super excited about Moon River because that is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite movies, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and because we could sit outside {kind of a big deal in my book}. And the food was yummy too! We shared some giant nachos, and then I had some amazing beef brisket tacos with chipotle ranch and salsa. After dinner, Christopher took me to all his favorite late night spots, and we had so much fun. So thankful for a wonderful long weekend with my love!

Live music makes any dinner great

We had fun dancing at City Market--This couple really
got into it!

Savannah Eats: 3 Peat

February is just yucky isn't it? It's been snowy, freezy, hot, rainy, foggy, thundery, earthquakey--everything you can image, and I am ready for spring!

Thankfully I was able to experience a little bit of spring this past weekend in Savannah! We had snow days all last week after Monday, so as soon as I could get out, I headed south for Valentine's Weekend. Since I was there for a lot longer than normal {Thursday-Monday}, I was able to try three yummy new places.

Uncle Bubba's Oyster House--picture info here
Uncle Bubba's Oyster House is located off Highway 80, past the Walmart on Whitemarsh Island, which is actually where Christopher lives so it was just a quick little drive over there. We had a Groupon for $40 worth of food for $23, so we went for the All You Can Eat Crab Legs {romantic for Valentine's, I know!}. While we did have to wait forever, since they weren't taking reservations, we did get to look around the gift shop, enjoy a drink, and spend some time outside by the water. Since Uncle Bubba is Paula Deen's brother, there were plenty of Paula's goodies at the gift shop--I have to get the "Butter, y'all" butter dish soon!

The food was really good: unlimited crab legs, yummy fried shrimp, amazing mac-and-cheese, and a couple of great desserts. I actually tried raw oysters for the very first time, and really liked them--with a dash of hot sauce, of course! Uncle Bubba's is definitely a "tourist trap," and while it may not be somewhere we visit again, it was fun to go and I'm glad we could check it off our list!

Kayak Kafe--Picture found from their Twitter here
I cannot say enough good things about Kayak Kafe. Located at Broughton and Bull right past Starbucks, this is the perfect place to stop at before an afternoon of amazing shopping. Everything on their healthy, fresh, and well priced menu looked amazing. I tried the pulled pork, avacado, and grilled pineapple salsa burrito and it was truly heavenly. The pork was so tender, and the grilled pineapple salsa gave it a great tang. The best part? The house-made habanero sauce. Whoa, what a kick! But it was perfect--Kayak Kafe is excellent, and I will definitely be visiting again.

The Distillery--Picture found here
The Distillery was a place that I really thought Christopher would like. There is always 21 craft beers on tap, and over 100 different bottled bears to try. The building was originally a distillery in the early 1900's, but became a pharmacy during Prohibition. Now it's back to it's roots, serving up great food and drinks. If you go, definitely try the pretzel bites--so yummy! Three of the five people at our table ordered the Bootlegger Burger, so it must be good!

Where to next?

Getting Ready for Giveaways!

Picking out wedding colors and bridesmaids gifts in the past week have gotten me so excited for our June 2015 wedding! I ordered way too many books from Amazon {Southern Living Wedding Planner, Emily Post's Wedding Ettiquite, etc.} and am ready for the planning process to begin! I'm thankful to have a year and a half to plan to reduce stress and hopefully costs. We haven't exactly established a budget yet, but would like to be as cost-efficient as possible.

While perusing some wedding websites, I ran across some giveaways I thought I would share with other brides-to-be! They only take a few seconds to enter, and who knows--you could be the big winner!

David's Bridal is hosting a giveaway of a bridal gown or five bridesmaids dresses. Such an accommodating contest; if you already have a dress but no maids' dresses you can still win, and vice versa! Visit www.davidsbridal.com and click "Bridal Dresses" then "All Dresses" and the interactive form pops up. This contest runs through March.

Hopefully you're already following Southern Living on Pinterest. If so, you're all set to enter their wedding giveaway! It's for an all inclusive wedding for you, the groom, and 100 guests at The Willcox in Aiken, SC. This looks like it would be the most perfect venue for a southern belle's dream wedding! Look under the Sweepstakes & Giveaways Southern Living board on Pinterest to find the pin that links to the form above. This contest runs through February.

Dress...check. Wedding...check. Honeymoon?
I keep on hearing and reading about the wonders of an all inclusive honeymoon the reduce stress and maximize fun and relaxation. Sandals is offering a four-day, three-night honeymoon on them that you definitely should apply for! It's kind of hard to find--there is a small box at the bottom of the homepage where you enter your email before it takes you it the above page with the full form.

Have you found any other giveaways I should apply for? Also, what do you think about wedding websites?

Happy Planning!

The Best is Yet to Come

If New Years Eve is any indication, 2014 will be a blast--literally! I spent the week in Dublin with the fiance and his family, just hanging out and getting ready for NYE. Christopher and I had gone to Clemson earlier the week before and stocked up on what promised to be the best fireworks around. Crazy Steve did not lie! These were the best home-done fireworks I have ever seen! All 24 were absolutely huge! Of course the boys had to not just shoot them out of the {rocket launcher? fireworks tube?}, but had to throw them by hand--I'm so glad no one lost a hand...

Preparing My Heart

The past eight months have been a whirlwind of change in my life. Getting engaged, graduating college, and entering into the big girl world have been a little more than crazy! 2014 signals the start of the planning season for my 2015 wedding {18 months, eek!}. I'm more than thankful to not be rushed, and would definitely encourage others to take their time and enjoy their relationships--no matter what stage you're in! I've been able to enjoy all of these significant firsts, with my significant other, but without the additional stress of planning and executing a wedding at the same time. Hopefully, planning a wedding over a year away will also aid in lowering my stress level too!

With my "fancee" in pharmacy school, and the personal stress and distractions of my own life throughout the past few months, we've not had a lot of time to focus on each other and our relationship. With Christmas approaching, the importance of relationships has been re-emphasized in my life. Throughout December, I am making it a point to reconnect with those most important to me. I realized that even if I talk with some one every day, I sometimes don't feel totally connected to them, and that is something that is so important to me. I want to take time to be a better friend, daughter, sister, and "fancee" and to fill those relationships with love, joy, and fun!

All this being said, I want to be prepared for the new year, and a new position in life {Type A: Must have a Plan}. The fancee and I have decided to work through the book "The Five Love Languages" by Dr. Gary Chapman. We both have different love languages, and it's really helping us to read more about how each love language is different and to realize how it affects each other differently.

I've also started reading "Things I Wish I'd Known Before We Got Married" on my Kindle app on the iPad and it's a great piece to follow up and go alongside the love languages book.

The other night on Pinterest, I saw a Bible study from a blogger that she did the 12 days before she was married as a way to prepare her heart for marriage and to discover more about the Bible's truths about a couple's relationships. I decided to work through these passages from now until Christmas {a little more than 12 days, but still!} in hopes to prepare my heart to better love those around me.

I'm definitely planning on doing this Bible study and reading these books over and over again until the wedding to help keep me focused away from the stress of detail and on the "heart" of the event at hand!

How did {and do...as it's a never ending process!} you prepare your heart for marriage? Do you have any advice for "soon-to-be's" or newlyweds?

Elton John Date Night

For Christopher's birthday, I wanted to get him something fun and different. But I had to be sneaky. So I decided to do gifts-inside-a-gift, my favorite method of gift giving only reviled by the tower-of-gifts I so love. So I got him a Marley Lilly overnight bag for his travels to see me {with his new monogram--he's changing his last name to his grandfather's, which will be finalized within the next month}. After looking in the bag to find homemade pumpkin muffins, and a new shirt, he found two tickets to see Elton John in Atlanta on Nov. 16! Woohoo!

Friday night we had Mexican Cornbread Casserole, and and Ice Cream Sandwich Cake. Yum--this is so good, especially if you love ice cream and cake! Best of both worlds. We went to Atlanta Saturday afternoon and ate at Ted's Montana Grill which neither of us had ever been to. It was amazing! I wish bison was more readily available because it was delicious.
We then wandered over to Phillips Arena for the concert, and although we didn't have the greatest seats, you could see the sequins from a mile away! The concert was wonderful, music was great, and it was so neat to learn that two of the band members have been with EJ since he started. 2Cellos opened for the band, and played with them throughout the night, which was a great surprise. I had no idea they were going to be there and Christopher loves them!
It was a really great night, and it was so nice to do something different like this. I'm not usually a big concert person, but EJ was a great performer, and we both truly enjoyed the evening. Check it out!

Happy Birthday, Christopher!

Happy birthday, doll! Birthday season for the two of us kicks off a reminiscent time of year for our relationship. The first time we ever hung out was on my 20th birthday at the Statesboro Fair. Then, we attended my sorority's formal on his 20th birthday a few weeks later. December 7th marks the day we officially became a couple, and then we are into the Holiday Season, which is always so much fun. I love this time of year, and this man more than anything!
I couldn't have made it through the last six months without him as I've gone through some of the hardest, most trying times I could have ever imagined. He is always there to listen to me, and hold me when we are together. Even though we are miles and hours apart most days, he always makes me smile. I never imagined that the guy who I wasn't sure totally liked me after like, three months of dating would be the one I would spend my life with, but I am eternally grateful for the surprises he brings to my world daily! Loves you.
After spending the weekend celebrating Christopher's birthday with presents, fun with friends, and the best pumpkin pie gelato, we are looking forward to a great weekend in Atlanta at the Elton John concert! I can't wait!

Savannah Eats: Tequila's Town &The 5 Spot

Last weekend {October 17-21} was the school's where I work fall break, so I took off towards Savannah to celebrate my birthday weekend with my favorites! I think all we did that weekend was eat. The "fancee" found my favorite birthday cake, the Raspberry Elegance cake at Publix, and somehow managed to sweet talk his way into paying only $5 for it. Supposedly there is some other story, but I know how he charms the ladies...

Five Guys again when I got there {I believe I am seeing a pattern}, but Saturday was all out foodie fun. Brunch with the sister-in-law-to-be/best friend/big sister at B. Matthew's Eatery--to be covered after the next #SAV trip--before a day out on the town getting pedi's at Spa Bleu, a visit to Wet Willies, and of course tons of shopping. Saturday night, Christopher and I, along with our friends Spencer and Andrew went to Tequila's Town for my birthday dinner. Best. Mexican Food. Ever. I seriously could drink the cheese dip. It's a cozy little place, with an excellent menu that was so fresh and delicious. And of course the margarita pitcher wasn't a bad way to start off a night in downtown Savannah! It was definitely worth our brief wait to eat--check out their menu here.

Monday I was able to have lunch with Christopher in between his classes and lab before I left town. We accidentally stumbled upon The 5 Spot in Habersham Village which was perfect! I loved the decor--all gray, and ropes, and exposed lighting; it was a really cool place. I had the Fried Green Tomato BLT with rémoulade and sweet potato fries, and Christopher had the amazing Southwest Burger with bow tie mac and cheese. We ended up each taking half of the other's sandwhich because it was too good not to share. They also had a fantastic looking breakfast menu we'll have to go back and try, along with the 5 Spot Nachos we were lusting after at the table next to us.

     Where should we go next?

Savannah Eats: B&D Burgers and the Beach Bar

Since my sweet "Fancee" (we don't like the word fiance for some reason. Maybe because it's too hard to spell!) lives in Savannah while in pharmacy school, I will be making quite a few trips down there over the next few years. He's kind of a foodie, and is always going to these neat restaurants all over town with his classmates. We've started making it a point to revisit all of these cool places when I come into town, which is really fun! I like trying all different kinds of foods, and it adds even more excitement to our few and far between weekends together.

I took last Friday off and went down early so that I could be there as soon as he got out of class at noon. We went to Five Guy's for lunch on Whitemarsh Island where he lives, which I realize is something that I have at home so it's definitely not super exciting, although it is super delicious! If I had known we were going to go to a burger place for dinner, I'm sure we would have gone to the Yum Yum Chinese buffet like he so desperately wanted (okay, so he's not always a glamorous foodie).

That Friday night, we went downtown and met his classmates at B&D Burgers on Congress Street. Their website claims to have been rated top 10 best burger in the U.S., and I would tend to believe them. I didn't order a burger because I for some reason felt guilty about ordering red meat twice in one day which was an odd thing for my carnivore self. I did however, order the chicken tenders and onion rings, and they were pretty much the best chicken tenders and onion rings ever. The Fancee did order the Ft. Pulaski burger, topped with onion rings and it was absolutely delicious. The Congress St. location has an amazing outdoor patio complete with comfy couch seating, corn hole, and the Braves game projected onto the wall. The location, coupled with an amazing Mojito (or two!) made for a really fun night!

For Saturday, I requested a beach day. Now, Tybee and I don't really get along, as every time I've been there it's either been too cold, too windy, or too jelly-fishy. But I had literally not laid out on a beach in two years so I didn't care. We went down early in the afternoon to the North Beach by the lighthouse, where it's less crowded and a little quieter. No sooner did we get in the water did the Fancee get stung by jellyfish. He also proceeded to get extremely sunburned in about 10 minutes, so my day of a beach bum quickly turned into being a nurse! His pain quickly turned into hunger (always) so we wandered back up to the hole-in-the-wall restaurant we had seen on our way in. I'm so glad we did. North Tybee Beach Bar is amazing! The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for: cool, relaxing, and fun, and the prices and food were awesome too! I had a delicious Caprese salad, so refreshing and cool after the hot sun, and the Fancee had a wonderful lamb burger (are we seeing a trend?). We shared a basket of sweet potato fries that were drizzled in balsamic and honey. Who knew that would be good? All of their specials sounded great, so I know we will be frequenting this spot again soon.

It is Finished

I can't believe I'm done. I am a college graduate. It really didn't hit me until the night before that I was actually leaving Statesboro for good the next afternoon. It had been an interesting week, going through so many final rituals and rites of passage but it had yet to truly set in.

As I walked across the stage, more nervous that the announcer would pronounce my name incorrectly than about the high likelihood of tripping, I looked out at the stands and peacefully realized "I am DONE!!" No more busy work, or papers, or group projects, or meaningless assignments. I have completed what sometimes seemed to be the impossible: I have graduated college, and in three years at that!

Graduation was a really fun day with both my family as well as the fiancé's meeting at the Phi Mu house for a cookout after the commencement ceremony. From there we went to Sweetheart Circle to take some cap and gown pictures before loading up and heading back to Florence, SC, for two weeks before I move to Atlanta!
